چکیده

Aim: Our objective is to investigate the effect of geriatric pulmonary embolism severity index score on mortality independent age and compare it with simplified index.
Material Method: This a retrospective observational study including patients over 65 years diagnosed embolism, who presented emergency medicine clinic tertiary hospital between January 1, 2016 2021. The relationship original PESI 30-day was evaluated, removed from in G-PESI. A univariate analysis PESI, s-PESI, G-PESI performed using chi-square test, Fisher’s exact Student’s t-test, Mann–Whitney U test as appropriate determine association these scores mortality. Statistical SPSS version 26.0.
Results: included 167 patients, whom 113 (67.7%) were women. According diagnostic performance report, index, statistically significant predicting mortality, area under curve values 0.736 (0.34-1.91), 0.635 (0.74-1.81), 0.739 (0.50-2.18) at cut-off >110, >2, >40, respectively (p

Association between the Pulmonary Embolism Severity Index (PESI) and short-term clinical deterioration.

The Pulmonary Embolism Severity Index (PESI) has been shown to predict 30 and 90 day mortality after PE. However, whether the PESI predicts patients who will be free of clinically adverse outcomes during a typical hospitalisation is not known. Retrospective analysis of Emergency Department patients with PE from May 2006 to April 2008. We compiled demographics, data to calculate the PESI and a c...

Changes in PESI scores predict mortality in intermediate-risk patients with acute pulmonary embolism.

Although the Pulmonary Embolism Severity Index (PESI) accurately identifies 35% of patients with acute pulmonary embolism (PE) as being low risk, some patients deemed high risk by the PESI on admission might be treated safely in the outpatient environment. This retrospective cohort study included a total of 304 consecutive patients with acute PE, classified at the time of hospital admission int...

The shock index and the simplified PESI for identification of low-risk patients with acute pulmonary embolism.

We compared the test characteristics of the shock index (SI) and the simplified pulmonary embolism severity index (sPESI) for predicting 30-day outcomes in a cohort of 1,206 patients with objectively confirmed pulmonary embolism (PE). The primary outcome of the study was all-cause mortality. The secondary outcome was nonfatal symptomatic recurrent venous thromboembolism (VTE) or nonfatal major ...
